LONDON and PROVIDENCIALES, TURKS AND CAICOS ISLANDS, 01 April 2026 – TrustFlight, the world’s first and only end-to-end aerospace safety intelligence platform, announced that the Turks and Caicos Islands Airports Authority (TCIAA) has selected its Centrik 5 safety and compliance platform for deployment across all six airports it manages in the Turks and Caicos Islands, a British Overseas Territory in the Caribbean.

Established in 2006, TCIAA oversees airport operations across the territory, including Howard Hamilton International Airport in Providenciales, the islands’ primary international gateway. The authority is subject to aviation safety and security oversight from Air Safety Support International (ASSI), a wholly owned subsidiary of the UK Civil Aviation Authority responsible for regulation across UK Overseas Territories, as well as from the UK CAA directly.

Centrik 5 will support the development and strengthening of TCIAA’s safety, security, and compliance framework, with a particular focus on its Quality Management System (QMS) programme. The platform will provide integrated capabilities for safety reporting, document management, compliance tracking, and risk assessment across all six airport sites, replacing the authority’s existing safety management system.

A key factor in the selection was regulatory alignment. ASSI already uses Centrik as part of its own regulatory and oversight activities, including security audits conducted on Turks and Caicos Islands airports. By adopting the same platform, TCIAA will improve visibility across safety and compliance activities and streamline its engagement with both ASSI and the UK CAA. Following a competitive evaluation, Centrik 5 received unified support from TCIAA’s Safety and Quality Assurance teams, alongside CEO and finance approval.

“Managing safety and compliance across six airports requires a platform that gives us clear, connected visibility of our entire operation. Centrik 5 brings our safety reporting, document control, and risk management together in one system. The fact that ASSI already uses Centrik for its regulatory oversight of our airports was a significant factor in our decision. It means we’re working within the same ecosystem as our regulator, which strengthens our QMS programme and simplifies how we demonstrate compliance,” said Kendre Wilson, Quality Assurance and Compliance Manager, TCIAA.

“This partnership is a powerful example of the value a connected safety ecosystem can deliver, from regulator to operator, on the same platform. When an airport authority and its oversight body are working within the same system, the entire safety and compliance chain becomes more transparent and more efficient. We’re proud to support TCIAA as they strengthen their safety and quality framework across the Turks and Caicos Islands,” said Karl Steeves, CEO, TrustFlight.

Company Profile

Isle of Man Airport, also known as Ronaldsway Airport (Purt Aer Vannin in Manx), is the primary civilian airport serving the Isle of Man. Established as an airfield in 1928, the airport has played a crucial role in connecting the island to the UK and beyond for nearly a century. Passenger services began in 1933, and operations have since expanded to include major airlines such as Aer Lingus and Railway Air Services. Strategically located near Castletown, the airport serves as one of the two main gateways to the Isle of Man, alongside the Isle of Man Sea Terminal.

Today, it operates flights to 17 destinations, served by five airlines, and in 2024, it welcomed over 650,000 passengers. As a medium-sized airport, Isle of Man Airport has always prioritised operational efficiency and regulatory compliance to ensure the safety and satisfaction of its passengers. However, as operations became increasingly complex, the need for a more streamlined and transparent approach to safety and compliance management became evident. Recognising this challenge, the airport sought a more integrated, efficient system, leading to its partnership with TrustFlight.

Opportunity to Transform

Before 2019, Isle of Man Airport relied on SharePoint to manage safety, compliance, and operational processes. While this system provided a basic level of digital documentation, it lacked the functionality required for real-time oversight, structured workflows, and seamless collaboration among different departments. Over time, these limitations became more pronounced, making it increasingly difficult for the airport to maintain high standards of efficiency and regulatory compliance. The airport environment is inherently dynamic, with operations spanning from the terminal to the control tower and airfield. Real-time access to critical safety, compliance, and operational information is essential, but the lack of a centralised system resulted in inefficiencies.

The Isle of Man Airport leadership recognised the growing complexity of regulatory requirements and the pressing need for improved tracking, auditing, and reporting capabilities. Following a comprehensive evaluation of available solutions, the airport chose TrustFlight’s Centrik, a specialised Safety, Quality and Risk management (SMS/QMS) platform designed for the aviation industry. Centrik stood out for its ability to unify safety management, compliance tracking, and operational oversight into a single, intuitive interface. More importantly, it provided a structured and transparent system that would empower every employee—from the Airport Director to customer service agents—to take an active role in maintaining the highest standards of safety and service.

Strategy Execution

Implementing a new system can often be met with resistance, as changes to established workflows can unsettle staff. Recognising this, TrustFlight adopted a structured and supportive approach to ensure a smooth transition for Isle of Man Airport employees.

Through a combination of hands-on training, live demonstrations, and continuous support, TrustFlight encouraged early adoption. Key personnel became advocates for Centrik, fostering a culture of transparency and efficiency. The transition from SharePoint to Centrik was carefully planned and executed through a phased rollout approach. This allowed employees to gradually familiarise themselves with the new platform without disrupting daily operations. The Documents Module was one of the core modules introduced, providing a centralised hub where essential regulatory and operational documents were instantly accessible to all staff. In an ever-changing regulatory environment, quick distribution and immediate availability of documents became key to ensuring smooth airport operations.

The introduction of the Reporting Module marked a significant shift in how Isle of Man Airport managed safety observations and incidents. Employees at all levels could now easily submit reports on safety issues, occurrences, and potential risks. This not only improved compliance but also fostered a positive reporting culture, ensuring that lessons learned were shared across the community.

Through this phased approach and proactive communication, TrustFlight ensured that Centrik was not just a technological upgrade but a catalyst for a broader cultural shift—one that emphasised accountability, efficiency, and continuous improvement across all airport operations.

Outcome

Since implementing Centrik, Isle of Man Airport has transformed its approach to safety, compliance, and operational management. Compliance management has been greatly enhanced, with real-time access to critical information improving responsiveness and decision-making. The centralised system has eliminated inefficiencies, providing management with valuable data-driven insights. Automation has reduced administrative burdens, freeing staff to focus on strategic initiatives. Increased visibility into safety trends has allowed the airport to proactively address risks before they escalate. Perhaps most importantly, Centrik has fostered greater engagement across all levels of the organisation, creating a strong culture of collaboration and safety. This transformation has positioned Isle of Man Airport as a model for how medium-sized airports can leverage technology to enhance operations, ensuring it remains a reliable and efficient gateway to the Isle of Man for years to come.

“TrustFlight has been an exceptional partner in modernising our operations at Isle of Man Airport. With Centrik, we’ve seen a remarkable evolution in the way we manage safety, compliance, and daily processes. Their expertise and support have made the transition seamless, allowing us to enhance reporting, streamline workflows, and create a more transparent and accountable safety culture.” – Melissa Rundle, Head of Safety, Compliance & Quality Assurance at Isle of Man Airport

A long-standing Centrik customer, London Biggin Hill reviewed its use of the system, moving from purely safety management to adopting the system’s modular structure to control every aspect of the day-to-day running of the airport. This process also included integrating the Centrik systems used by other resident businesses, allowing for seamless cross-sharing of all safety, risk and compliance reporting.

Ben Spiers, Head of Safety and Compliance at London Biggin Hill Airport, says: “Safety is integral to everything we do at London Biggin Hill and we are always looking to enhance and innovate by improving quality and standards in this field.

“Utilising Centrik to its full potential ensures we have total visibility and control of everything happening across the airport. In addition, being able to combine the Centrik systems of some of the operators and businesses based on site has created a much more collaborative approach and we have real-time access to what is happening across the site.”

From cohesive and aligned control of the airport’s fire, handling, security and maintenance departments, through to wildlife dispersal and hazard management, airside safety occurrences, third party contractor permit applications, operational and business risk assessments, internal fault reporting and even IT maintenance – everything now goes through Centrik.

London Biggin Hill’s Centrik system currently has 323 users, while access has also been granted to nominated persons from 28 external organisations. Being cloud-based, Centrik has allowed London Biggin Hill to move away from disparate internal and external methods and use a single centralised system.

The system’s intuitive and user-friendly interface has played a key part in enhancing the reporting culture, with effective reporting management now adopted across a variety of areas; enhancing performance across the business.

The airport is now able to track and monitor all actions through Centrik, generating real-time reports and analysis, providing a fully evidenced audit trail for the regulator. The system has meant that London Biggin Hill now operates as a more streamlined, efficient, coherent, cost-effective – and ultimately safer – business.

London Biggin Hill is the only dedicated business aviation airport within the capital, is home to more than 70 resident aviation businesses and sees around 50,000 aircraft movements per year.

Centrik is part of TrustFlight, a global provider of powerful software services to the aviation industry, delivering robust, ultra-efficient, paperless solutions to any type of business across the sector.

Birmingham Airport, one of the UK’s fastest growing airports, has implemented powerful operational management system, Centrik, to transform its airside operating procedures.

Birmingham is the seventh largest airport in the UK. With annual aircraft movements now in excess of 130,000, its safety and compliance procedures are becoming ever more complex. As such, the airport has turned to Centrik, citing it as the only fully integrated system able to handle the growing scale of operations.

Harry Harrad, Aerodrome Compliance Manager at Birmingham Airport, says: “As soon as Centrik demonstrated its capabilities, I knew I had found the right tool for the job. It’s enabled the Airfield Operations Team to restructure the airport’s airside regulations scheme, as well as remove overly-complicated documentation procedures, eradicate paper trails and email chains, and make every aspect of the safety and compliance process more efficient and intuitive.”

Utilising Centrik’s cloud-based architecture, Birmingham Airport’s Airfield Operations team carries out all compliance and incident reporting via an iPad. This updates the airport’s operational management picture in real-time, which in turn is instantly accessible to authorised users wherever they are.

“We can now manage our safety reporting as we go, out in the field. We no longer need to use a host of disparate programmes to upload our findings to the server from our desks, then rely on email to circulate the results. Now, all members of the team, and anyone else we choose to provide access, can instantly see and manage the current operational situation – it’s an incredibly intuitive system that provides complete transparency for all, which helps make the process much more efficient,” Harrad says.

To help the airport further, more than two years of historical safety and compliance reports were input into the system by the Centrik team, creating a comprehensive overview that can be used to improve the airside regulations processes.

This historical data creates operational heatmaps and KPIs, providing an instant, visual guide of all safety and compliance reports. This information allows the team to quickly and effectively investigate any recurring trends and action improved procedures, all managed through the system itself. These changes can then be tracked to ensure they are being effectively carried out.

“Centrik is enhancing our approach to safety and compliance reporting. The system allows us to allocate responsibilities to relevant team members directly, so we can then track any required actions in real time and see whether they have been completed.

“With the reports and subsequent next steps visible to the team, Centrik allows us to put the onus back on the individual, meaning there are no opportunities to ‘pass the buck’ and nothing can fall through the cracks. It’s an extremely powerful tool to have at our disposal,” adds Harrad.

Over time, the plan is to expand Centrik’s usage across the airport, utilising its modular design to integrate with third-party operators, as well as to assist with training, meetings and workflow planning, making it an increasingly integral part of the airport’s day-to-day operations.

Birmingham Airport serves more than 150 direct scheduled and charter routes and offers an additional 340 possible connections worldwide.

London City Airport has turned to Centrik to transform its day-to-day operations, after finding that it was the only management system capable of handling the airport’s extensive and complex requirements.

London’s most central airport, which has 2,100 employees working across its campus, has been enjoying a record-breaking year and is also progressing its transformative, £480 million City Airport Development Programme.

Now, various aspects of the airport’s safety and quality management utilise the Centrik system.

Lee Russell, Director of Aerodrome Compliance at London City, says: “We’ve been looking for a management system with Centrik’s capabilities for a long time, and until now had never found one.”

Prior to implementing Centrik, London City Airport relied heavily on individuals to file reports or relay relevant operational information via email, while each department had a different system for maintaining and monitoring records. Centrik centralises the safety reporting process across the airport, allowing everything to be effectively evidenced through real-time reports and analysis, removing the email or paper chain and improving operational efficiency.

“Centrik puts all of the airport’s safety data at our fingertips, providing every department, every third-party operator and every relevant member of staff with the latest information at all times. Centrik gives us the power to collate and analyse this information in real time, allowing us to track our performance and evidence the effectiveness of our operating procedures,” Russell adds.

Additionally, compliance, assurance, training and document control will now be brought onto the system over the next few months, and further aspects are being reviewed with the potential to be included. Centrik provides London City Airport with a clear, current, concise overview of all pertinent safety information, reports and action points, all accessible via desktop or mobile device. Centrik’s live, fully integrated nature means that all users can be sure they are working from the very latest information, procedures and processes automatically.

“Centrik is a complete operational management solution,” continues Russell. “For example, if anyone raises a safety report all relevant personnel can track it, seeing the results, any actions and who needs to complete them – in real time. This includes the regulator with direct links to the MOR / ECCAIRS systems. This level of transparency means all involved understand what is required of them, meaning nothing can slip through the cracks.”

London City Airport will also configure Centrik to create daily, weekly and monthly reports for its executive, highlighting all airport activity, safety reports and relevant action points. This process was previously deemed impractical due to the amount of time and manpower required to collate the data and use it effectively within procedures and processes – with Centrik, all of this is now possible at the click of a button.

“The more we use the system, the more powerful it becomes – there are levels of functionality we haven’t touched yet, but as we move forward we’ll be sure to explore the system’s full potential,” Russell concludes.

London Oxford Airport has adopted Centrik as its operational management system, playing an invaluable role in assisting the airport to join a select club of IS-BAH Stage II accredited support operations.

The cloud-based operational management system makes it easy to evidence operational compliance to auditors and regulators – an instrumental factor in London Oxford Airport securing the accreditation, held by just a handful of business aviation support operations across the globe.

The airport – which handles more than 36,000 aircraft movements a year – has found the system has transformed its management by integrating every aspect of airport operations into a single real-time platform.

Dolores Sardina, Compliance and Standards Manager, London Oxford Airport, says: “Centrik provides us with minute-by-minute management of Safety, Health and Safety, Quality, HR, GDP and Environmental Management systems – and it’s transformed our operations, because all these areas are now integrated into a single system.”

As a result, Centrik has greatly simplified document control, process reporting, tracking and monitoring of all activities at the airport, including management of third-party suppliers and contractors.

The system also assists with operational compliance, thanks to its ability to integrate and interlink all findings, follow-ups and actions – enabling management to see at the click of a button everything that happens on site and how it is being handled.

Based on the success of the system to date, Centrik is developing a new bespoke module for the airport designed to provide management of equipment maintenance.
